In the Art Bar: Addy Nydegger

"I didn't know I could paint until nursing school. I was recently married, living in a dark dreary basement apartment. Since I was too poor to buy wall furnishings, I decided to make my own. I sat down with a blank canvas and realized I could paint! Since then, I have experimented with different styles and techniques. I hand-mix all my colors from the primary colors: red, yellow and blue, along with black and white.

I create whatever I think is beautiful, whether it be a portrait, animal, or even a single color. My artwork challenges me, giving me moments of clarity, frustration, and at times, euphoria. I thank God for my artistic abilities and for the precious beauty of the natural world around us."

Addy Nydegger is a registered nurse and proud Skagitonian. She and her husband Kyle have two perfect cats, and have had the opportunity to visit 49 National Parks. Alaska is next on their list.

Meet Addy at an Artist Reception on Friday, January 12th from 5:30-7:30 PM.
