La Boheme (Puccini)

Saturday, Apr 5, 9:55 am
Sunday, Apr 20, 1:00 pm
Running Time: 3:25 includes a 34 minute intermission.

Kristine Opolais will sing Mimi in today's encore performance of Puccini's La Boheme, replacing Anita Hartig, who became ill just before curtain.

Miss Opolais agreed to perform on extremely short notice after singing the title role of Madama Butterfly for the first time at the Met just the evening before. Opolais has sung Mimi with the Vienna State Opera, Berlin State Opera, and Latvian National Opera and will sing the role at the Met next season. She made an acclaimed Met debut last year as Magda in Puccini's La Rondine.

Puccini’s moving story of young love is the most performed opera in Met history—and with good reason. Anita Hartig stars as the frail Mimì in Franco Zeffirelli’s classic production, with Vittorio Grigolo as her passionate lover, Rodolfo.

Every Saturday live transmission features a pre-opera lecture with the wonderful Stassya 30 minutes before the start time.  Also, Saturday operas offer the option of pre-ordering your lunch from The Lunch Box.  Pre-order lunches are made up during the opera and ready for you to enjoy during the intermission. We will also have recorded encore screenings of all performances.

Tickets: $23 adults; $19 seniors; $16 students with $2 off for Lincoln Theatre Members. Discounted Season Passes available!

Tickets go on sale to MET members on August 16th, Lincoln Theatre members August 19 and to the general public August 21.
