Presented by Skagit Immigrant Rights Council:
Papers is the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status. Five brave young people choose to take the risks of arrest, detention, and deportation to countries they do not even remember in order to bring to light some of the stories of the 2 million undocumented children who live in the United States today.
What becomes clear in listening to the stories of undocumented youth is our immigration laws have nothing to do with the qualities of a person or their accomplishments. They are laws that punish indiscriminately and ineffectually. They break up families, punish talented, successful youth and raise questions about the moral choices we must make as individuals and as a country.
