In the Art Bar - Daniel Tuttle

Daniel Tuttle,
printmaker and painter
Mount Vernon, Washington

Meet the artist for a reception on December 5th from 5:30 - 7:30pm before the NT Live broadcast of Hamlet.

I was born and grew up in Western Washington. Before recently moving to Mount Vernon, I lived in Eastern Washington for more than 35 years.

I have been obsessed with the visual arts since the age of 3. My father had been a prolific carver of linoleum and wood blocks since the 1930s, and introduced the techniques to me and my sisters as soon as we were old enough to handle the tools.

Over the years I have worked in blockprint, watercolor, serigraphy and did freelance graphic work.

I began to do large work in oil and pastel around 1990, taking the imagery from the forests and mountains of North Central Washington, the stark land forms of the Columbia Basin and the landscapes and antiquities of Ireland and Scotland. Most recently I have worked with multi-run blockprints and painting in acrylics, including landscapes of the mountains, bays and rivers of northwest Washington.
