Join us at the Lincoln Theatre for our film series Yesterday's Tomorrow, Today: Dystopian Visions of the Future 1973-1976.

In these four futuristic films about the decay of society, the anxieties of the 1970s are laid bare: overpopulation, pollution, authoritarian rule, encroaching technology, and endless war all raise their heads. Is it possible to break free and even flourish? Or are we doomed to be swallowed up as the last vestiges of individual humanity are drained away?

Wildly imaginative and gripping to this day, some of these films may seem implausible and even at times ridiculous -- but some may feel uncomfortably, alarmingly prescient. Yesterday's tomorrow may be today before you know it!

May 21: Logan's Run

In the year 2274, young residents enjoy an idyllic, hedonistic lifestyle within the protective confines of a domed city. Most people believe that when each person turns 30, they are reincarnated for another blissful life cycle. Those who know the much darker truth become "runners" and flee to a hidden sanctuary.

When law enforcement officer Logan (Michael York) goes undercover to locate the refuge, he winds up on the run himself.
