Brewfest 2013 recap:
It was a gorgeous afternoon. The music was terrific, the beers divine, and the conversation scintillating. It was a wonderful event that, once again, helped the Lincoln in so many ways. We know we made many new friends for the Lincoln at Brewfest – bringing folks downtown to have a great afternoon. We also brought in almost $11,000!
Special thanks to the bands – CD Woodbury Band, The Boneyard Preachers, and Kim Field and the Mighty Titans of Tone! Rick Starr of the Rockfish Grill in Anacortes lined up the bands for us, and Dave Johnson used his great MC skills to keep things moving along! And those great brewers who joined us and made the afternoon such a great success… Hundreds of people came out in support of the Lincoln and their favorite brews. They were kept from starvation by Calle Tacos and Hot Rock Pizza. And when they needed a break, they played Leisure Games, with beverage in hand! What a great day!
The Lincoln celebrates our wonderful partnership with the Porterhouse each year for Brewfest. Elise Karin is an invaluable part of the event – we couldn’t do it without her!
And we couldn’t do it without the dozens of volunteers, Jerry Fortier of the outstanding sound system, and the help of the Mount Vernon Parks and Rec Department and other City departments. It really does take many hands to make a great event.
We are grateful to Skagit Cycle for the generous donation of bikes and Thai House, Chief of the Jail Charlie Wend, Valerie Rose, Good Earth Massage, Deception Pass Tours, North Sound Brewery, Eaglemont Golf Course, Sam’s Shine Shop, Island Adventures, and LaConner Channel Lodge for their raffle donations, as well. Support from KISM, Westar Solutions, and Walton Beverage was critical to our ability to bring Brewfest to the Skagit community.
And special thanks to our downtown neighbors for their tolerance and support of this great community event! We hope that we’ll see you at the 12th annual Brewfest in 2014!
