A hundred years ago, the Lincoln Theatre opened its doors to the public with a grand celebration of the acts that would follow: the song and dance of live vaudeville performers, cartoons, and a feature length silent film accompanied by a rollicking score played on the Mighty Wurlitzer. And 100 years later, we're bringing you a weekend full of special events that hearken back to a century ago!

On Saturday, April 25, we're bringing you a Centennial Showcase featuring a selection of 5- to 15-minute acts from the Lincoln stage in an homage to our Vaudeville roots. The performances include a jazz performance by Joan Penney, entertainment by Wren the Juggler, musical numbers from Theatre Arts Guild and NiTE, sketch comedy from MV Live!, opera numbers sung by Elizabeth Feeney, a dance performance MVHS Folklórico, and ventriloquism with Buddy Mac and Cosmo. All performers in the Centennial Showcase are local talents and represent the breadth of live event programming we regularly offer at the Lincoln Theatre.
Joan Penney brings out the best in jazz audiences by selecting and playing charts that are diverse, generational, and so full of love and swing that you just have to dance! Working with a broad variety of regional, a-list musicians, Joan’s musical selections range from Latin, classic jazz standards, pop and show tune arrangements, blues, and comedic tunes.
Wren the Juggler has been entertaining audiences of all ages in Northwest Washington for over a decade by sharing his genuine love of juggling from fairs to corporate events, traveling circuses to elementary schools! Whether on stage with his family-friendly juggling show, on stilts dressed as a juggling cowboy or pirate, or helping spread the joy of circus through his interactive Juggle Zone, Wren the Juggler brings his enthusiasm, positivity, and joy and shares it with one and all.
