One man. Three films. An eternal icon.
In the span of a year, James Dean made three movies that changed cinema forever. Even though his life was cut short 70 years ago at age 24, his image endures; he remains one of the most instantly recognizable stars in the world.
In August, we're showing all three films that Dean starred in. Come see how, in such a short time, Dean made an indelible mark on the pop culture landscape.
August 19: Giant
Giant is Dean's final film, a sprawling epic about wealth, prejudice, and identity in mid-century Texas.
Dean plays Jett Rink, a poor ranch hand who strikes oil and clashes with the powerful family (Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor) that once looked down on him.
Released over a year after his death, Giant earned Dean his second posthumous Oscar nomination and cemented his legacy.
