In celebration of the 27th Anniversary of the Celtic Arts Foundation, the Lincoln Theatre and CAF are proud to present a screening of the classic comedy Whisky Galore!

During World War II, the tiny Scottish island of Todday runs out of whisky. When the freighter S.S. Cabinet Minister runs aground nearby during a heavy fog, the islanders are delighted to learn that its cargo consists of 50,000 cases of whisky, and they decide to "appropriate" it for their own use.

When officious English commanding officer Captain Waggett (Basil Radford) demands return of the liquor, shopkeeper Joseph Macroon (Wylie Watson) and his daughters Peggy (Joan Greenwood) and Catriona (Gabrielle Blunt) spearhead an island rebellion.

A raucous caper with a dash of rebellious subtext, Whisky Galore! was a favorite of CAF founder and former Mount Vernon mayor Skye Richendrfer, and this night we honor him and his legacy.

Whisky will be served in the Art Bar, curated by the Celtic Arts Foundation. A bagpipe recital will precede the film.

Join us in raising a glass, and enjoy a movie about whisky on the rocks!
