The Lincoln Theatre presents the Lincoln Stars Variety Show: Featuring Jet Black Pearl, Swil Kanim, Wren the Juggler, and Casaundra May & James!
The Lincoln Stars Variety Show is back!
The Lincoln's Legendary Mike and Maura, "the Magnificent Marlins," will be your charismatic emcee duo. They will take you on a vaudevillian journey of song, dance, big top antics, and comedy vignettes! The Lincoln is honored to host our special guest performers:
Hailing from The Netherlands, the inimitable Jet Black Pearl spent many years in France before settling in Portland, Oregon. Jet is a creator of alternative worlds filled with surreal humor and wry observations. With her loop station, she records grooves and layers of flute, vocal percussion and harmonies while squeezing one hot accordion. "A formidable force of music, and truly has to be seen to be believed!" —Three Weeks, Edinburgh Fringe Festival. You may know her from her Lincoln performances accompanying the Amazing Bubble Man.
Swil Kanim is a U.S. Army veteran, storyteller, actor, and classically trained violinist from Washington State. A board member of the Seattle Symphony, he blends original compositions with powerful stories drawn from his life and heritage, inspiring audiences nationwide. His music and compositions are the direct result of a well-supported public school music program, which he credits for nurturing his artistry.
Wren the Juggler incubated in such amazingly creative environments as the Bellingham Circus Guild and the Lookout Arts Quarry and if were lucky he will be joined by his juggling sidekick Jules McEvoy where the multi-media Jugglers love being goofy on stage and sharing their love of juggling with anyone who will watch!
A blistering musical celebration of rebirth, rising from the embers of the past lives of two unique individuals, Casaundra May and James. With musical roots four miles off Highway 61 on Dry Bayou Road south of Rolling Fork in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, Casaundra and James explore numerous genres with a theatrical flair and a commanding sound that beckons you deeper into their world.
