Northwest Career & Technical Academy present: AMES Family & Community Showcase.

The AMES Family & Community Showcase is a free community event celebrating student work in video game development, animation, and media arts. It gives families and community members the chance to experience student-created projects, see the creative process in action, and recognize the talent and real-world skills students are developing. Free snacks will be available.

Animation & Graphic Design + Video Game Development Family Night is an event celebrating students who have completed our programs and a major three-month capstone project, culminating in participation in the Advanced Media Entertainment Society (AMES) Showcase. The AMES Showcase is a statewide, project-based experience in which students present work aligned to a theme and conclude with a state competition judged by industry professionals.

This event provides students from both programs the opportunity to share their learning with family, friends, instructors, industry partners, and the broader community, while also practicing their presentation skills in preparation for the state competition. NCTA aims to expand access so that more community members can join us in celebrating the achievements of our students.

Preparing Students for Purpose: Insights from Multiple Choice (2025), directed by Ted Dintersmith, is a documentary that examines the urgent need to transform education systems so students are prepared for purposeful, meaningful lives-not just standardized tests. Premiering in September 2025, the film highlights innovative school models that emphasize collaboration, creativity, and real-world skills.

AMES (Advanced Media Entertainment Society) brings together educators and industry professionals to support students in developing skills and sharing their stories through media arts like film, animation, music, and game design. Selected student creations will compete in regional competitions later in May.

At Northwest Career & Technical Academy (NCTA), we are proud to partner with our regional high schools to expand what’s possible for students. Through shared-time programs, career-connected learning, and hands-on experiences, students can explore their interests, build skills, and see a clear connection between their education and their future.

All are welcome. Come be part of shaping a future where every student has a path and a purpose.

Admission is free. Presented by Northwest Career & Technical Academy.
