The Metropolitan Opera’s Emmy Award –winning series The Met: Live in HD 2010-11

General Admission

The Metropolitan Opera’s Emmy Award–winning series The Met: Live in HD continues in its second season at the historic Lincoln Theatre.  All remaining live performances begin at 10AM Pacific Time (1PM in New York), except Don Carlo and Die Walkure at 9:30AM and 9:00AM, respectively. Each live performance will be viewed in real time live around the world.  Don’t miss the chance to experience the Met live at the Lincoln Theatre!

Pre-order lunches are available at the Saturday live broadcast through the Lunch Box, just around the corner from the Lincoln on Pine Square.  Patrons can place their orders in the theatre lobby before the performance begins, and lunches will be ready at the second intermission.

Pre-performance discussions will also be held on the Saturday live broadcasts, led by Stassya Pacheco and presented by the Skagit Opera Guild.  Ms. Pacheco introduces herself and the discussions in the following way:

"My name is Stassya Pacheco.  I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia.  I have studied music in Music College, History and Languages at University, and Art in the Hermitage.  Working as a teacher of music, tour guide and interpreter, my goal was and is to bridge cultures and peoples.  I would like to make the opera experience more meaningful and enjoyable by sharing my knowledge with the audience.

Each opera has its story.  Some of them were pivotal, revolutionary or contraversial.  You will be taken on a journey through different countries, witness the cultural riches of previous centuries and exotic places.  Centuries, traditions, and different languages are irrelevant when we speak about the backbone of mankind- our emotions.  The feelings of love, hate, hope, faith, joy and sorrow have become the universal language understood by all, when expressed through the music of opera.

Understanding the uniqueness and diversity of this art form through this brief glimpse in time can be a challenge.  So, to enhance your journey, the Skagit Opera Guild and I will provide an introduction to every live broadcast performance which will give you additional information and historical background."

Discussions begin 45 minutes before the live Saturday broadcasts at the Lincoln Theatre.
