
Skagit Theatre Camp is a unique theatrical experience for youth age 6-16 in Skagit County. The two-week camp engages up to 40 theatre students in improvised games and activities teaching many crafts of theatre arts. Students will apply the knowledge and skills learned in camp to a production at the end of the two-week program. The position requires experience directing and inspiring young theatre artists, a working knowledge of theatre-based curricula, experience teaching theatre to young people, vision and leadership skills in managing a successful education team and program, and the ability to positively contribute to a community theatre organization.
Applicants for this role should have robust communication and relationship building skills, strong project management, business development and people management skills.

GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Skagit Theatre Camp seeks TWO Director positions. Directors will plan, coordinate, and oversee all classes, performances, and programs. Summer 2022 includes one two-week camp that produce a theatrical production at the end of camp. The Director is responsible for managing camp/show budgets, facilitating auditions, creating lesson plans over ten days of camp, camp rehearsals and productions, managing camp interns and working with production team on production needs for each camp.
The Skagit Theatre Camp Director is charged with maintaining and supporting the mission of The Lincoln Theatre through the production of quality theater experiences for Skagit Valley youth.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor’s degree in Drama/Theatre or equivalent level of experience in theatre.
• A working knowledge of technical theatre.
• Experience producing theater and / or planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising related events.
• Experience teaching the arts to young people.
Job Types: Contract, Positions open until filled.
Pay: $2000
Dates: Camp will be held July 18 - 30, 2022, from 10:00am - 3:00pm at the Historic Lincoln Theatre. Community Performances will be Saturday, July 30th at 10:00am and 12:00pm.
Schedule:
• 6-7 hour shift
• Monday to Friday, July 18-30 and course preparation with intern prior to camp.
