This one night only event pays tribute to one of America’s music icons and features popular New York entertainer Meg McLynn. She is backed by The Purple Phoenix Country Band

Patsy Cline is considered by many the Queen of Country Music. Achieving superstar status in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s. During the short six years between her rise to stardom and her sudden death, she recorded a great many songs that have since become classics. Among the 30+ Patsy Cline hits included in this high-energy 2-hour concert are: “Walkin’ After Midnight”, “I Fall To Pieces”, “She’s Got You”, “Heartaches”, “Sweet Dreams”, “Leaving On Your Mind”, “Foolin’ Around”, “So Wrong”, “Too Many Secrets”, “Faded Love”, “He Called Me Baby”, “Strange”, “San Antonio Rose”, “Anytime” and her trademark hit “Crazy.”

Cline’s career skyrocketed when she joined the regular cast at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in 1960. She ahd already had minor success with a few recordings, but the television appearances boosted the public’s awareness of her. She release three albums before she was killed in a private plane crash in 1963. Fortunately, she had recorded many songs that had not yet been released by the record company, so many of her most popular songs were not released until after her death.

In 1973 Cline was the first female solo artist to be elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame. In 1995 she was posthumously given a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1997 her recording of “Crazy” was named the number one jukebox recording of all time –and her recording of “I Fall To Pieces” was listed at No. 17. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999. In 2002, Country Music Television named her number one on its list of “40 Greatest Women of Country Music” – an honor voted on by members of the music industry.

A life-long fan of Patsy Cline’s recordings, Meg McLynn began paying tribute to Ms. Cline singing along to her records at home with her mother as a child.  McLynn has performed in theatres and nightclubs across the country, including many original off-Broadway productions in New York City, several Las Vegas productions and new musical and dramatic works in Los Angeles. Also an accomplished actress, she has been touring with FOOLIN’ AROUND WITH PATSY CLINE for almost a year in between theatrical productions, “…enjoying every minute of it”, McLynn says. “This show fell into my lap and, honestly, if I could put everything else down and do nothing but sing Patsy Cline songs, I’d be a happy, happy lady!”
