PART OF A LINCOLN FILM SERIES: WOMEN'S MARCH
In celebration of Women's History Month, join us at the Lincoln Theatre to watch three films based on the real-life stories of women getting things done! It's Women's March!
A League of Their Own takes place during World War II, as the war efforts pull young, athletic men away from America's favorite pastime. To fill the gap for sports fans, a professional all-female baseball league is founded in the Midwest.
Joining up, competitive sisters Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) spar with each other -- as well as with their grumpy has-been coach Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) -- on their way to fame. Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell round out the team.
Based (loosely) on actual events, director Penny Marshall (Big) hits a home run with a crowd-pleasing combo of a heartfelt story and winning performances!
