For the last three Tuesdays in February, join us at the Lincoln Theatre to watch a quintessential trio of Spaghetti Westerns -- director Sergio Leone's The Man With No Name trilogy, starring Clint Eastwood in his most iconic role and featuring the majestic soundtracks of composer Ennio Morricone.

The stoic antihero -- a role which cemented Eastwood's place as an international star -- is referred to by a different nickname in each the three films -- was Eastwood really playing the same character as the films were made? Or is the grouping of the three films together, as a "trilogy," simply an after-the-fact marketing gimmick? Either way, these are three of the greatest westerns ever made -- come and revel in their sweeping scope on the big screen!

February 13: A Fistful of Dollars

A wandering gunfighter called "Joe" (Eastwood) arrives in the Mexican border town of San Miguel, which is in the midst of a power struggle between sheriff John Baxter (Wolfgang Lukschy) and the three Rojo brothers. The Rojos hire the Joe to join the gang -- but the taciturn newcomer plays one side against the other in a struggle of greed, pride, and revenge.

Directed by Sergio Leone

February 20: For a Few Dollars More

In the Wild West, a murderous outlaw known as "El Indio" (Gian Maria Volontè) and his gang are terrorizing and robbing the citizens of the region. With a bounty on El Indio's head, two bounty hunters, "Monco" (Eastwood) and Col. Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef), come to collect the prize. Upon their first meeting, the two men view each other as rivals -- but they eventually agree to become partners in their mutual pursuit of the vicious criminal.

February 27: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

In Sergio Leone's magnum opus, Eastwood is back as "Blondie," who forms an extremely uneasy partnership with Mexican outlaw Tuco (Eli Wallach) in order to take on the sadistic mercenary "Angel Eyes" (Lee Van Cleef). As loyalties shift constantly and unpredictably, all three try to outsmart the Union army in an increasingly desperate search for a cache of Confederate gold buried somewhere in the desert.
