NIGHTMARE ALLEY: VISION IN DARKNESS AND LIGHT is shown in the classic film noir style Black & White with the authorization of the filmmaker, writer, and director Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth).

When charismatic but down-on-his-luck Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) endears himself to clairvoyant Zeena (Toni Collette) and her has-been mentalist husband Pete (David Strathairn) at a traveling carnival, he crafts a golden ticket to success, using this newly acquired knowledge to grift the wealthy elite of 1940s New York society. With the virtuous Molly (Rooney Mara) loyally by his side, Stanton plots to con a dangerous tycoon (Richard Jenkins) with the aid of a mysterious psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who might be his most formidable opponent yet. Nominated for four Academy Awards inluding Best Picture, Cinematography, Production Design, and Costume Design.

"Nightmare Alley feels gorgeously and intricately alive on the screen. Its shadows are luxuriant and deep, often threatening to swallow the characters whole, and the actors play their parts with an aplomb that rivals del Toro’s own." - Isaac Feldberg, Inverse

Directed by: Guillermo del Toro
