August 15: What a Way to Go!

Shirley MacLaine sets the zany dial all the way to the top, in the sumptuously colorful What a Way to Go!

Louisa May Foster (MacLaine) loves being in love -- and it's certainly not her fault that her husbands keep dying! At the end of her rope, she spills her story to psychologist Dr. Stephanson (Bob Cummings), and the tale unfolds as Shirley's outfits (designed by Edith Head, of course!) become ever more luxurious.

The supporting cast is frankly astounding: Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, Dick Van Dyke, Dean Martin, and Gene Kelly all put in appearances. Can one of them offer Louisa May the true happiness that she deserves?

Masks are recommended but not required.
