The Lincoln Theatre presents work by Cherie Donovan-Smith.
Cherie Donovan-Smith paints vibrant, celebratory images of women and creates whimsical felted objects. She is also the co-creator of the newly founded Artisan Craft Cooperative in Sedro Woolley. She also creates “Characters” for her own line of cards.
Opening on Downtown Mount Vernon's First Thursday Art Walk, May 1 from 5-8pm
National Theatre Live launched in June 2009 with a broadcast of the National Theatre production of Phèdre with Helen Mirren and the Lincoln Theatre has been there from the start. They've since broadcast more than twenty other productions live from the National Theatre, and on occasion other theatres in the UK and we've screened them all.
Past broadcasts include Danny Boyle's Frankenstein with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller, One Man, Two Guvnors with James Corden and The Last of the Haussmans with Julie Walters. This past season has included Coriolanus and War Horse and now NT Live has just announced their new season that we are excited to present: A Streetcar Named Desire, Skylight, Of Mice and Men, JOHN, Treasure Island, The Hard Problem, & Man and Superman.
Julie Bishop creates her kaleidoscopes from her photographs of local Skagit images, including tulips and other flowers. She views the creation of them as a type of meditation practice, finds joy in the colors, designs and images she creates, and hopes that they give you joy and pleasure too!
Julie will be in Art Bar for the Skagit Valley Art Walk on Thursday, April 3rd from 5:00 - 8:00pm.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, March 8th, the Lincoln Gallery, through out the month of March, will be showcasing powerful women of Skagit Valley, their art and their ability to connect. Women, as natural communicators and organizers, are often at the hub of the wheel. This show not only spotlights women of artistic talent, but also women that have made their life their art. Their knack for creation goes beyond traditional arts and crafts and is reflected in their livelihoods, their community activism, their homes, and their relationships:

Don Willcuts has been an artist since he could scratch lines in the dirt. He loves the ladies & everything that is beautiful - even things some might consider ugly. Most of his pieces are illustrations from his own stories. He believes we are all co-creator of our realities. He feels that if you are chosen to be enlightened by the source of creation, you have been given the keys to a multitude of potentials. There are no mistakes, the process is the perfection.

I love to make art!
I had the opportunity to learn some watercolor technique from Val Welman and George Tsutakawa, my professors in Western and Japanese Watercolor painting at the University of Washington School of Art back in the 1970s.
I wish that I had studied techniques in that medium more, as I’m largely self-taught and often come up short of what I’m trying to achieve.
About the Artist
I have MS degrees in education and recreation therapy, but art and the outdoors are my passion. I have always enjoyed art and have dabbled in various media over the years: drawing, colored pencil, watercolor, pottery, Sumi-e, and most recently collage.
